COURSE
OVERVIEW
Operational
consultancy and coaching carried out at the well site with the
drilling team. Specific hazards of the well-to-be-drilled are
presented and discussed, with reference to Pressure Transition
Zones & Flow Back Analysis (Ballooning and Supercharging)
using fingerprinting data as a “base line” analysis.
This is carried out in a formal workshop-type environment as well
as through informal ‘"walk-and-talk" coachingsessions
to raise awareness levels close to the critical sections of the
well. The "SideKick" Advanced Kick Simulator software
package is incorporated.
LEARNING
OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course, delegates should be able to demonstrate
familiarity with and understanding of the following:
- Monitoring
trends and forecasting

Pressure Transition Zone analysis
- "Fingerprinting"-
Flow Back analysis (Ballooning & Supercharging)
- "SideKick"
analysis (incorporating synthetic based mud (SBM) technology)

Co-ordinating accurate communication and feedback on a tour-by-
tour basis between all parties monitoring well returns

Focusing Drilling Team awareness on challenges specifically related
to the part of hole section to be drilled during the active tour

Facilitating regular drills, i.e. Stripping & Choke Circulation,
for crew preparedness

Supporting Operator and Drilling Contractor Lead Personnel in
accomplishing the drilling process in a safe and efficient manner
while focusing on crew preparedness towards the prevention and
management of unexpected events unique to the HPHT drilling environment
