COURSE OVERVIEW

Theoretical and practical course for surface and/or subsea installations at Driller level. Designed to enhance understanding of the fundamentals of well control that can be applied to most well control operations, and to prepare candidates for IWCF testing.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, delegates should be able to demonstrate familiarity with and understanding of the following in preparation for IWCF testing:
• The principles and procedures of rotary drilling well control for surface or combined (surface and subsea) BOP operations at IWCF Driller Level
• Rotary drilling well control equipment

• Simulator familiarisation and IWCF practical assessment at Driller Level

COURSE DEFINITION - SURFACE AND COMBINED

Prior to attending, delegates shall indicate which type of BOP certificate course (i.e. “Surface” or “Combined”) is required:

• Surface BOP certificate course is for surface mounted BOP’s only
• Combined BOP certificate course covers both surface and subsea mounted BOP’s
